1:04Now PlayingTraumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) now account for at least 70% of all U.S. wounded in the war with Iran. With TBIs making up the vast majority of wounds, the long-term cost is staggering—potentially exceeding $1 million per veteran. Yet, the Pentagon’s $200 billion request focuses on the war itself, failing to include the billions required for the Department of Veterans Affairs. We must learn from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, where it took a decade to get the VA budget where it needed to be. We must demand a "full cost of war" accounting that includes lifetime care for those coming home.
