A 6yearold competitive dancer had one of her legs amputated because of complications from strep throat. Tessa Puma of Ohio was thought to have recovered from her illness after a doctor gave her antibiotics according to her dance teacher. She says the child started having flulike symptoms and developed an infection on her leg. Doctors told the family the strep bacteria traveled to Tessa's blood stream.
