The animals filmed each other waiting on sea ice, sometimes for half a day, for food. They almost exclusively eat seals. Researchers say the problem is the sea ice is melting, which means the bears need to exert more energy to find food. Already, they burn through around 12,000 calories a day just by sitting around.
