When the MTA shut down at midnight, police officers moved homeless people out of the trains and stations, and cleaning crews moved in to start an hours-long process of scrubbing and sanitizing seats, doors, handrails, and turnstiles. The city’s subway system has 472 stations and over 6000 trains. This was the first time since the subway opened in 1904 that it was shut down overnight. #InsideEdition
