Historian Scott Ellsworth told Inside Edition Digital that in less than 24 hours, “More than 1,000 African-American homes and businesses were looted and burned to the ground by a white mob numbering in the thousands.” Thousands lost their homes, and an unknown number lost their lives. #InsideEdition
