Researchers were on a mission to find the Perrin’s beaked whale in the Mexican Pacific Coast when they spotted two whales that looked and sounded different from the approximately 23 other known species. Water samples were taken and researchers say if it’s confirmed to be a new species, it could inspire future generations of scientists to go out and discover.
