The heist was pulled off at a truck stop when two Brinks guards left their truck unattended. When they came back, the guards found the vehicle was broken into and all the gems were gone. The treasure, which included rubies, emeralds, sapphires and thousands of diamonds, was supposed to be transported to a show in Pasadena, California.
