According to New York City Fire Department, e-battery-related fires are up a whopping 233% in two years in the Big Apple. The fires have resulted in 163 injuries and 10 deaths, including a 5-year-old girl who was killed in an apartment building fire. California couple Daniel and Linda Jones say they lost everything when their electric scooter caught on fire. Electrical engineer Brad Davis says many fires are caused by overcharging or faulty batteries.
