Camille Herron raised her arms in victory as she crossed a marathon finish line in Henderson, Nevada. Her new time beat the previous world record she set in 2017. However, officials now say she missed it by 716 feet. Eight months after setting the world record, officials re-measured the course and found it was 716 feet short of 100 miles. The distance was enough for the USA Track & Field committee to decertify Herron's record-setting race.
