as posted by the channel

Children have been riding ponies in the hills of Griffith Park for 74 years, but that is ending after a series of protests and petitions prompted the city of Los Angeles to shut down the petting zoo and pony rides attraction. Animal rights advocates have accused the operation of neglect and poor treatment of the ponies. The Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department has not renewed its contract with pony rides owner, Steve Weeks. The attraction will shut down on Dec. 21.
