Salia Baligh is the first person from the deaf and hard of hearing community to serve as a Princess in the Tournament of Roses Parade. She was born without ear canals or ear drums, and uses a cochlear implant to restore partial hearing. Members of the Royal Court take part in 100 community and media functions, serving as ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses. Salia says she knows being on the Rose Bowl Royal Court will be an inspiration to others.
