The spar had been given to the Pascack Historical Society in Park Ridge, New Jersey, by Stephen McDonald, who found it at the sale. One day, volunteer Chris Kersting decided to confirm its authenticity with the help of experts, the Navy and the Arlington National Cemetery. Inside Edition Digital has more.
