1:53Now PlayingA Norwegian company is trying to make salinated water fresh. Waterise has patented what they say is an energy-efficient reverse osmosis filtration process. Reverse osmosis is a way to take impurities or chemicals out of water. It can also be used to desalinate, or remove the salt. The United Nations says water is “at the center of the climate crisis.” A 2022 UN study says about two billion people worldwide don’t have access to safe drinking water, and that number is expected to increase.
