The incident occurred after the police officer pursued Leonard Cure, who they say was going 100 MPH was down a highway. Police say that after Cure ignored commands to put his hands behind his back, the officer cop pulled out a taser hitting Cure. Cure then began to flail and came towards the deputy. After a tense scuffle, the officer opened fire, killing Cure. The family's attorney says Cure's 16-year imprisonment left him with severe PTSD and he may have been triggered by the police stop, fearing he would return to jail. The family met with the district attorney and says they were told a decision will be made by the end of the week about whether or not the officer will face charges.
