Chita Rivera, the original Anita on Broadway in 1957’s "West Side Story," has died. The Broadway legend was a tour de force performer and dancer originating leading roles in iconic musicals such as "Bye Bye Birdie," "Chicago" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman." Rivera was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009. Her long-time publicist says Rivera died peacefully after a brief illness. She was 91 years old.
