In February 2023, Gloria Serge was walking her dog behind her home in Ft. Pierce, Florida, when the gator attacked. Her ordeal was captured on a wildlife camera. Lawyers for the Serge family blame the development for not enforcing rules about not feeding the alligators and for failing to ask the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to remove the larger gators.
