Bystanders watched as a powerful wave of snow, ice, and debris tore a path down the mountainside toward the buildings below. Authorities say they believe vibrations from construction on the nearby Zoji La Tunnel may have triggered the avalanche. Despite the massive avalanche, so far, no casualties have been reported.
