Ian Forrest is a third-year medical student at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. The 29-year-old is also an accomplished cellist who played the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden last December. Forrest plays in the subway for the pure joy of performing for people, but recently was the subject of a disturbing act of violence. A woman lurked behind him, before picking up the musician’s metal water bottle and hitting him with it.
