The Alabama woman who faked her own kidnapping pleaded guilty to her crime. Carlee Russell was driving when she called 911 to say she was pulling over to help a toddler she saw on the side of a highway. Two days after she vanished, Russell returned home on foot. Authorities were suspicious, saying she researched the phrase "amber alert." She was charged with two counts of falsely reporting an incident. The judge gave her a suspended sentence and ordered her to pay $17,000 in restitution.
