Hegseth reportedly felt that he was the victim of blackmail. The woman was “the aggressor in initiating sexual activity” says Hegseth's lawyer. He says Hegseth was afraid of being fired from Fox over the allegation and paid the woman an undisclosed sum. In return, she signed a non-disclosure agreement.
