After allegedly shooting his wife, Judge Jeffrey Ferguson sent a text to his staff saying, "I just shot my wife." The night of the incident, Ferguson and his wife were having dinner when they allegedly got into an argument over money. Prosecutors say he pulled a pistol out of his ankle holster and shot his 65-year-old wife at close range. He's pleaded not guilty to murder, claiming the shooting was an accident.
