Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland told reporters he will be traveling to retrieve a Marylander who was unjustly detained. On March 12, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was seized by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Days later, he was flown to El Salvador, and interned at that country's mega-prison, known as CECOT. Van Hollen told reporters, "It is absolutely unjust and illegal to have this Marylander detained one more day in a notorious prison in El Salvador."
