Unusual footage showed a sickened pelican sitting atop an airline ticket counter at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. It is believed it had domoic acid poisoning. At Sea World Rescue Center in San Diego, sick pelicans received heated red lamp therapy. Handlers hold open the pelicans' long beaks and administer food down their threats. The workers also have their hands full dealing with 87 sick sea lions.
