Judge Declares Mistrial in Harvey Weinstein Rape Case

The jury foreman in the Harvey Weinstein trial refused to go on deliberating. Three jurors asked to be excused. The jury foreman said he felt threatened and was being pressured to change his opinion and was afraid to enter the jury room. Weinstein applauded in open court as the judge declared a mistrial. The jury was deadlocked on the charge that Weinstein raped actress Jessica Mann. Weinstein denies all the charges, saying the sexual encounter was “consensual.”
