The shockwaves of the bombings continue to resonate among those who remember them. One 94-year-old survivor told reporters that soon, "There will be no-one left to pass on this sad and painful experience." The bombs killed over 200,000 people in the two Japanese cities. They remain the only use of nuclear weapons in wartime.
