Some customers are complaining that rental car agencies like Hertz are using new AI vehicle scanning technology to charge fees for tiny dings and dents. INSIDE EDITION spoke with two Hertz customers who say they were charged when Hertz scanners detected small dents in their rental cars upon return. Hertz says the scanners “bring precision and transparency to a historically inconsistent process,” and “We try to get it right for every customer and, when we fall short, we make it right.”
