Updike's parents say continuous abuse drove their son to suicide. The University of Texas at Austin said they do not tolerate hazing by any group or individual affiliated with the school. The national chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity says its investigation resulted in the closure of the local chapter and expulsion of several members.
