10:23Now PlayingJamaica has secured a historic US$6.7 billion support package—over J$1 trillion—to fund national recovery and long-term development after Hurricane Melissa. Coordinated by the IMF, with contributions from the World Bank, IDB Group, Caribbean Development Bank, and CAF, this package represents global confidence in Jamaica’s governance and economic direction.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness engaged directly with international financial institutions to outline the recovery needs, estimated at US$8.8 billion. The funds will help rebuild stronger infrastructure, climate-resilient housing, agriculture, energy systems, and support Jamaica’s transition into a modern, digital, climate-ready nation over the next five years.
