There’s a lot of talk about who’s going to run for Governor in Florida next year. That’s not what matters right now. We’re 13 months from our election. It’s not about the who—it’s about the what. What vision do we want for Florida? Do we want a state that paves over every acre of farmland for another Dollar General, strip mall, or liquor store? Or do we want to preserve what made Florida special?
I spent a summer in China in high school—every inch of land there is built up. Is that what we want here? Do we want every highway to look like I-4 between Tampa and Orlando? That’s not the Florida we know and love. When we vote, we shouldn’t ask who we’re voting for, but what we’re voting for.
