James and Al are tracing the legendary path of Stanley Hollis, Company Sergeant Major D Company, who stormed Gold Beach as part of the D-Day landings with the 6th Battalion Green Howards. Hollis accomplished two incredible acts of bravery, earning him the only D-Day Victoria Cross, the highest British honour for courage. In this second episode centred on Hollis, James and Al venture to the village of Crepon, just a few miles from the Normandy invasion beaches. Riding in James' classic Citroen, they arrive at the hidden farm where Hollis heroically saved several of his comrades amidst relentless enemy fire during his second VC act. Before making their way back to Arromanches, James and Al honour the fallen heroes, reflecting on the courage and sacrifice of the Green Howards at their war memorial in Crepon.

Join historian James Holland and writer and comedian Al Murray, from the hit podcast We Have Ways of Making You Talk as they journey in the footsteps of World War II soldiers in Normandy.
