At the Poteau Crossroads in December 1944, Kampfgruppe Hansen overran the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion — an all-Black American unit — capturing and killing men in one of the Battle of the Bulge's most overlooked clashes. Then they defeated Task Force Maze. Two American units. Two German victories. And Goebbels' propaganda machine made the most of both.

Back in Germany, the footage was cut to make it look like the Wehrmacht was still winning the war. The public didn't know they were just months from total collapse. James Holland and Al Murray walk the Poteau Crossroads, then head to the pub to break down what really happened — and why the Germans were never going to pull this off.

This is the story of Kampfgruppe Hansen, the 1st SS Panzer Corps, and how propaganda turned a fleeting tactical win into a myth of German invincibility.
