YouTube Description

as posted by the channel

James Holland and Al Murray discussing what it's like to stand amongst the foxholes of the Golden Lions outside St Vith.

These positions haven't changed since December 1944 — when thousands of American GIs dug into the frozen Belgian earth and tried to hold back the full weight of the German Ardennes Offensive. Many of the men who sheltered here would be dead or in captivity within days.

Standing in them now, the scale of what happened in these woods becomes impossible to ignore.
