When the Colts fired Frank Reich and named former center Jeff Saturday as the interim head coach, the move was met with immediate criticism. It was questionable for many because Saturday has no professional coaching experience. For others, the hire underscores the lack of opportunity for black coaches in the NFL. Jason says there’s a reason the Colts didn’t hire a black coach to finish the season, and that could be a good thing for the minority candidates who were passed over.
