The change will allow simple majority votes to confirm several of President Obama's blocked nominees to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. "It's time to get the Senate working again not for the good of the current Democratic majority or some future Republican majority, but for the good of the United States of America," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said when announcing his plans use the so-called nuclear option. "It's time to change the Senate before this institution becomes obsolete."
