Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Elijah Cummings, D-Md., got into a heated argument during a hearing into the IRS targeting of political groups in which former IRS official Lois Lerner invoked her fifth amendment right not to testify. When Issa finished questioning Lerner and tried to adjourn the hearing, Cummings tried to make a statement and question Lerner.
Issa shut off the microphone. "We're adjourned. Close it down," he said.
But Cummings kept speaking.
"I am a member of the Congress of the United States of America. I am tired of this," Cummings said. "You cannot just have a one-sided investigation. It is absolutely something wrong with that, and it is absolutely un-American."
