1.) Lawmakers are fast-tracking a number of bi-partisan bills that would put an end to government shutdowns. One proposal would create an automatic continuing resolution to keep the government funded. Another bill would withhold funding from the legislative branch and Executive Office to force lawmakers to negotiate.
2.) The House has passed a bill that gives Federal workers a 2.6% pay-raise, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is still undecided on whether the bill will get a vote in the upper chamber.
