1.) The House of Representatives passed the most significant gun control legislation in over two decades. The bill, aimed at strengthening background checks, was passed on a 240-190 vote, but is unlikely to pass in the GOP-controlled Senate.
2.) The White House plans to organize a panel of scientists to re-evaluate the federal government’s current climate change assessment. The plan has not yet been finalized, but was discussed at a meeting with high level administration officials.
3.) 2020 Presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) promised she will not participate in high-dollar fundraising efforts. According to her campaign, Warren is more devoted to building grassroots supporters and small-dollar donors.
