1.) California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed an executive order placing a moratorium on executions across the Golden State. California becomes the fourth state to issue a moratorium on the death penalty. 20 other states have already ended capital punishment.
2.) Dick's Sporting Goods will remove guns from 125 of its stores. The sporting goods store began scaling back gun sales in the wake of last year’s deadly shooting in Parkland, Florida. The firearms will be replaced with other sporting gear.
3.) The New York Attorney General’s office issued subpoenas to two banks associated with the Trump Organization. Investigators requested documents from Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank relating to four major Trump Organization projects, and a failed effort to buy the Buffalo Bills football team. The subpoenas came as a direct result of Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony.
