Jesse talks about two mainstream media figures heaping undue praise on Donald Trump in the aftermath of the incident at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Jacqui Heinrich told Trump, "We're all grateful that we get to come home to our loved ones and be together afterward. And thank you for your leadership. In the moments afterward and for coming on and giving the country the strength not to let those who would wish to harm us stop us from our pursuit." While Brian Stelter took it a different direction and praised Trump for not attacking them, saying, "He very well could have immediately turned around and tried to blame the press. He could have immediately tried to claim that the press was out to get him." He finished by adding, "But you imagine a world where the American president could have very easily tried to make a bad situation even worse, and he did not choose to do that at all. In fact, he invited the press corps to run back to the white House for a press conference. And so I think that was a very American gesture, a very American statement."
