That’s the future of mass surveillance, according to Steven Delbene, the Police Chief in Scarsdale, NY. Delbene argues this is one of the reasons surveillance camera locations should not be disclosed to the public.
In response, the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) has brought a precedent-setting lawsuit against the Village of Scarsdale, NY. Following reporting on the surreptitious approach to Flock securing a contract in Scarsdale, the Village Board canceled their contract.
Daniel Lambright, NYCLU attorney on the case, breaks it down in an interview with Jessica Burbank.
