"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
This verse shows that God loves you and created you for a full and meaningful life (John 10:10)!
We were created to live in relationship with God! But because of our stubborn will, we chose to go our own way. Our relationship with God was broken. That rebellion against God—or even indifference—is what the Bible calls sin.
Many people don’t experience God's presence because, in general, they ignore Him. That indifference separates us from God (Romans 3:23).
We constantly try to reach God and the abundant life through our own efforts—by living a good life, through philosophy, or religion... But do we truly succeed?
Jesus Christ stands up for us. God Himself sent Him so that we could come to know Him better and understand His love and plan for this world and for our lives!
Jesus died in our place (Romans 5:8), rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3–6), and is the way to God (John 14:6). God bridged the gap that separates us by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place and pay the penalty for our sins.
You can invite Jesus Christ into your life. He wants to help you and free you from your troubles. Through Jesus, you can experience God's love and His plan for your life (Ephesians 2:8–9).
When we receive Christ, it's like being born again—you feel new!
Jesus says:
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." (Revelation 3:20)
Do you want to open the door of your heart to Jesus?
Feel free to say that—out loud or in your heart. You don't need fancy words: God knows your heart and cares more about your attitude than your wording.
Here is a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I want to welcome you in my life. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
If this prayer reflects the desire of your heart, you can pray it now. Christ will come into your life according to His promise.
