YouTube Description

as posted by the channel

This great hymn was composed by Charles Wesley in 1739, and was a variation of an earlier hymn "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today", a 14th-century Latin hymn which had been translated into English and published in Lyra Davidica in 1708 (and later in 1749 in Arnold's Compleat Psalmodist). We sang this hymn every Easter in my Baptist church, with that awesome pipe organ rattling the pews. But I think it sounds good on the guitar, too. Blessings!
