YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe President demonstrated to reporters how detained immigrants should run in a "zigzag" pattern to avoid being killed by alligators, saying their "chances go up about one percent" - as if this were some kind of game show rather than a matter of human life and dignity.
This isn't normal. This isn't how presidents are supposed to talk about human beings.
We're talking about a facility that officials openly describe as "deliberately cruel to detainees." The President is literally joking about people being eaten alive. Trump’s visit to a migrant camp called ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ crosses a line that should concern every American who believes in basic human dignity.
This is what happens when we normalize the abnormal. And frankly, this is exactly the kind of rhetoric that historians will look back on as a warning sign that we chose to ignore.
