as posted by the channelYears ago 60 Minutes did an investigation showing that in the 1980s–90s, the CIA partnered with Venezuela’s National Guard to smuggle tons of Colombian cocaine into the United States under the guise of an “intelligence operation.” Former DEA head Robert Bonner and agent Annabelle Grim revealed that CIA officers approved shipments that ultimately ended up on U.S. streets, with profits benefiting the Colombian cartels. Despite evidence, no CIA officials were prosecuted—only minor internal discipline was reported, while some officers were promoted.
