Despite what the Trump administration and certain mainstream media outlets might say, Iran continues to exercise effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, with missiles, drones, and artillery still capable of threatening shipping. Joining Jimmy on the show, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson characterizes reports of large volumes of oil moving safely through the strait as propaganda and argues that sanctions have failed to isolate Iran because it has alternative trade and financial relationships with Russia, China, Pakistan, and other countries.

The discussion also claims that U.S. economic pressure and confrontational policies are accelerating alternatives to the dollar-centered financial system while worsening energy, debt, and supply problems at home.
