7:38Now PlayingAccording to legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, President Trump is preparing to pay Iran at least $25 billion—and possibly much more—to end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, after realizing he was "misled" by Netanyahu about the prospects of a quick victory and regime change in Iran. An Israeli insider told Hersh that Trump "no longer trusts Israel" and "wants out" of the war, despite Israeli leadership being "very upset" because Trump is now willing to "ignore Israeli interests and desires."
Hersh reports that nearly all of Trump's top advisers warned him that an air campaign alone could not topple Iran's regime, but Trump was "bamboozled" by Netanyahu and Mossad chief David Barnea into believing a shock-and-awe decapitation strategy would work—which it did not. Jimmy notes that the war is costing the US at least $2 billion per day, so paying Iran $25 billion to open the strait would be a bargain.
