McGovern notes that Putin will go to China right after Trump, illustrating that the old trilateral relationship between Russia, China, and the US is now "isosceles with Russia and China on the long end of the stick and the US catching the short end of the stick."
McGovern adds that Russia and China are "virtual allies" and are stronger than the US, and that it is in their interest to not let Iran fall—a "new reality" that the US must recognize. McGovern also describes attending last year's 80th anniversary celebration in Moscow with Roger Stone, noting that their five-hour train ride from Moscow to Sochi revealed how "delicate" the situation is because the route had to go "almost to China" to avoid Ukrainian drone attacks, which McGovern calls "karma" since Ukraine could not conduct those attacks without US technology and intelligence.
