But primary electorates aren't reflective of a broad swath of the country in large part because more than 20 states and D.C. have closed, or partially closed primaries. That leaves out the more than 39 million Americans not registered to either party. This exclusion will be seen in real-time during New York’s primary election where some residents tell MS NOW’s Ali Vitali they will be forced to watch from the sidelines or file a ballot they know won’t get counted. Spectrum News political anchor Errol Louis also joins the discussion.
