Hwang Kyo-ahn served as Prime Minister and Acting President of South Korea from 2015 to 2017, stepping into the nation's highest office during the constitutional crisis triggered by the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye. The son of North Korean refugees who fled south during the Korean War, Hwang spent thirty years as a prosecutor specialising in national security before entering government — a career that forged his uncompromising stance on the Kim regime and the pro-North Korean forces he argues are embedded within South Korean politics itself.
