as posted by the channelOn tonight’s show, I cover the latest twists in Trump’s Iran war, and they’re getting more incoherent by the day. Trump appears to have changed the war goals yet again, now signaling he may end the conflict without reopening the Strait of Hormuz, even though that could hand Iran a major strategic win and hammer the global economy through oil, gas, and gasoline prices. I’ll also get into new reports that Italy, Spain, and France are increasingly refusing to help the US war effort, what that says about America’s growing isolation, and why even some military analysts are warning that any US ground move, especially around Kharg Island, could leave American forces badly exposed.
I’ll also talk about the widening fallout from the war itself. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are now threatening US companies in the region, the White House is openly justifying the killing of top Iranian officials by claiming they lied in negotiations, and there are new reports the Pentagon is considering anti-drone laser deployments in Washington after unusual drone activity. At the same time, gas prices have ticked up again, oil remains elevated, and the broader question is whether this administration has any coherent endgame at all, or whether it’s just improvising from crisis to crisis while hoping the markets don’t notice.
And beyond Iran, I’ll hit a series of domestic stories that show just how surreal and unstable things have become here at home. A judge has halted Trump’s attempt to build an East Wing project at the White House without Congress. New polling shows Trump’s standing with independents is historically awful. NBC reports ICE agents may be stationed outside Marine graduations to identify undocumented relatives. The Army has suspended the aircrew involved in that bizarre Kid Rock helicopter episode. I’ll also cover Trump removing Russians from sanctions lists without explanation, Rubio floating an attack on birthright citizenship, and a few other stories that show the same pattern everywhere: chaos, overreach, and a government that increasingly acts like the rules are optional.
